Clarifying your questions for peace of mind at Deep Roots Birth & Beyond.

What is a birth doula?

A birth doula provides physical and emotional support during labor and also during the perinatal periods. They help provide resources and go through birth preparations. Most have a tool bag to help support their clients. They have knowledge of positions and techniques that can be used during labor to support their client.

What if the doula has to cancel a visit or consult when she is called to a birth?

Hiring a doula comes with an understanding that there will be appointments that will occasionally have to be rescheduled. We can be called to a birth any time day or night. Sometimes this happens during scheduled appointment times. The doula will always contact the client to reschedule.
